The Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM) provides municipal services to residents, businesses, and visitors across the region. There are several ways to contact the municipality, depending on your needs.

For most non-emergency municipal services and general inquiries, residents are encouraged to contact 311.
311 can help with questions or service requests related to roads, water and sewer, garbage and recycling, transit, by-laws, recreation facilities, and other municipal services.

If 311 is not available from your phone, you can call 902-563-2276.
Citizen Service Centre (CSC)
The Citizen Service Centre provides in-person assistance for a wide range of municipal services.

Hours of Operation:
Monday to Friday – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Services offered at the CSC include:
- General information on the Cape Breton Regional Municipality
- Tax and water account inquiries and payments
- Payment of parking tickets Online Payment Portal
Note: Police-issued tickets and traffic fines cannot be paid online. See your ticket for payment options.
- Applications for building/development permits and subdivision approvals.
- Applications for municipal services (e.g., water, sewer, curb cuts) Municipal Services Form
- Purchase of bus tickets
Mayor and Council
CBRM is governed by a Mayor and Council, consisting of the Mayor and twelve District Councillors.
